Weapons case against Mladić's wife dropped

The First Municipal Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade has decided to drop charges against Bosiljka Mladić, wife of war crimes indictee Ratko Mladić.

The First Municipal Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade has decided to drop charges against Bosiljka Mladic, wife of war crimes indictee Ratko Mladic. After the prosecutor's decision, the court decided to suspend the case against Bosiljka Mladic, Judge Adamovic said, adding the cost of the proceedings would be covered by the state. She noted that she questioned Ratko Mladic while he was in custody in Belgrade, just prior to his extradition to the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, when he testified the weapons belonged to him. Police and security services found one hunting rifle, a Heckler & Koch and four Zastava pistols, along with several dozen bullets. The news was confirmed by Judge Vesna Adamović.

After the prosecutor's decision, the court decided to suspend the case against Bosiljka Mladić, Judge Adamović said, adding the cost of the proceedings would be covered by the state.

She noted that she questioned Ratko Mladić while he was in custody in Belgrade, just prior to his extradition to the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, when he testified the weapons belonged to him.

Police and security services found one hunting rifle, a Heckler & Koch and four Zastava pistols, along with several dozen bullets.

None of the persons involved in the case appeared in court on Wednesday.
