Trial of former Telecommunications Minister Marija Raseta-Vukosavljevic before the Higher Court in Belgrade was postponed today for October 31. The trial was postponed due to absence of one of the accused. Trial of former minister postponed Jovan Djenadic’s defense attorney sumbitted a document that showed his client was hospitalized. Raseta-Vukosavljevic and her associates are accused of illegally acquiring at least RSD 1.5mn during Belgrade airport reconstruction in 2003 and 2003. The first indictment against the former minister was raised in 2007 but the court dropped it and ordered an additional investigation. The final indictment was raised last year. It charges seven persons, including the former minister. Former Belgrade Airport officials Branislav Vitasovic, Dusko Grilihes and Sladjan Ivkovic and then Termoenergo Inzenjering Director and owner Djenadic and Kolubara invest gradnja co-owners Dejan Misovic and Lazar Buncic are among the accused. Raseta-Vukosavljevic and her associates are facing two to 12 years in prison for abuse of office. The former minister and other suspects were arrested in November 2004. After she was released from prison Raseta-Vukosavljevic denied any involvement in the embezzlement and pointed out that her arrest had been politically motivated. Jovan Đenadić’s defense attorney sumbitted a document that showed his client was hospitalized.

Rašeta-Vukosavljević and her associates are accused of illegally acquiring at least RSD 1.5mn during Belgrade airport reconstruction in 2003 and 2003.

The first indictment against the former minister was raised in 2007 but the court dropped it and ordered an additional investigation.

The final indictment was raised last year. It charges seven persons, including the former minister.
