“Kosovo intelligence service killed 450 people”

Former member of Kosovo Intelligence Service (SHIK) Nazim Bllaca has admitted that he was a member of a SHIK secret execution squad. He says that the service was cooperating with Hashim Thaci’s Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and that it killed about 450 people believed to be political adversaries. “Kosovo intelligence service killed 450 people” Bllaca, who has not been formally charged with anything, did not say how many murders were committed by his group but he did confess to a murder of former top intelligence service official and 17 other acts, such as beatings and blackmails. “I’m an author of one of those murders,” added Bllaca who is cooperating with EULEX prosecutors. “In accordance with his allegations that refer to organized crime, we have talked to Bllaca several times. The investigation is in its final stage,” a EULEX spokesperson stated. Bllaca is at the moment making a statement against one more SHIK member Fahredin Gashi. Pristina-based Albanian language daily Koha Ditore analyst Vehbi Kajtazi believes that Bllaca’s testimony could eventually lead to top officials in Thaci’s government. “He violated the code of silence about the KLA (Kosovo Liberation Army) people who were involved in crimes,” he pointed out. Thaci, who was accused of illegal human organ trade in Kosovo and Albania in Council of Europe Rapporteur Dick Marty’s report, did not react to Bllaca’s accusations and only said that they should be investigated. However, Azem Syla, former KLA head and current PDK deputy leader who Bllaca called a “head of the execution squad”, has rejected the allegations and said that Bllaca was a “psychopath and a Serbian spy”. Bllaca, who rarely leaves his house anymore, said that he had not revealed everything he knew and that he still had plenty to say. “I am ready to testify until the end,” he pointed out.
