The Spanish police unmasked a Serbian gang suspected of robberies and fraud in Spain, France and Portugal and arrested 29 people. In the operation, the police seized four kilograms of gold jewelry, two gold bars and EUR 70,000 in cash, as well as fur coats, watches and cell phones, the police said in a release, the AFP reported. “Serbian gang” arrested in Spain The gang used women and children to carry out over one hundred home robberies, sometimes threatening to slit the victims' throats if they did not turn over their valuables, reads the release. One group operated in southern Spain, the second in the Basque region and Navarra, in northern Spain and southern France, the third in the eastern Spanish town of Castellon, and the fourth in Portugal. Among the 29 people arrested is a jeweler who dealt in stolen valuables. Most of the confiscated possessions were found at a property in the eastern Spanish town of Vinaros, said the police.
