Ljubomir Dapcevic (58) and his daughter Milica (21) were shot to death by his ex-wife Ljiljana M. yesterday in front of a restaurant in downtown Belgrade. The shooting followed after a fight and the suspect first shot the young woman twice in the head and then killed her father. Two dead in family drama She managed to run away and jump from the Brankov Bridge into the Sava River. She was soon pulled out of the water and taken to the Emergency Center. Reports said the woman was conscious and her vital functions were stable, although she suffered from hypothermia due to time she spent in the river. The tragedy began minutes after 17:00 CET on Saturday when Dapcevic’s ex-wife came to the restaurant where her victims were having a meal and started arguing. All three of them went outside and the woman pulled out a pistol and started shooting. She first shot Milica twice in the head and then shot her ex husband in the head from behind. After the shooting she run to the Tasmajdan Park and according to unofficial information attempted to climb up the scaffolding of the St. Marko's Church which is being repaired but a police patrol stopped her. It is still unknown how she managed to get away and get to the Branko’s Bridge. The mother of the murdered 21-year-old came to the crime scene and said that the woman had on several occasions threatened to kill Milica but that nobody had taken it seriously. “This is of course another example of the so-called domestic violence, i.e. violence motivated by family reasons and as you can see such type of criminal acts have been happening pretty often lately,” Interior Minister Ivica Dacic told B92.
