The Albanian mafia in Kosovo hires Serbs from Kosovo very often to smuggle drugs across the administrative line, Blic states. The Service for the Fight Against Organized Crime (SBPOK) states that Albanian gangs and Serbs usually work through a mediator. SBPOK: Albanian mafia employs Serbs “Serbian drug dealers have very good ties with Croatian and Bulgarian smugglers,” SBPOK said. "Their cooperation with Albanian dealers is almost non-existent and there are almost no Albanians working in Serbian drug gangs and vice-versa,” the service states. SBPOK data shows that there are over 20 crime groups working in Serbia with 146 registered members, who deal with drugs. “These crime organizations are of different levels of organization. There are those working small time, but also powerful ones that work on a clan model of hierarchy, such as the group of Darko Saric. The drug groups exist in every Serbian city, but are especially active and well organized in Belgrade, Novi Pazar, Novi Sad, Nis, Kragujevac and Jagodina.
