EULEX said that its police "have been carrying out a search in the residence of a former KLA commander". A statement from the EU mission in Kosovo said today that this was done under the supervision of the Special Prosecutor’s Office in Kosovo and that the search is connected to the ongoing Blaca investigation. Residence of ex-KLA leader searched "A EULEX special prosecutor is present at the scene in order to ensure the effective gathering of evidential material and provide a full and proper explanation to persons present at the scene," said the statement. The identity of the person, described as a former leader of the so-called Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), has not been disclosed by EULEX. But the local media are reporting that he is Azem Sula, Hashim Thaci's uncle. Nazim Blaca, an ethnic Kosovo Albanian, last year publicly spoke about "political murders" in Kosovo in the wake of the 1999 conflict there.
