EULEX: War crimes suspect arrested

A person suspected of war crimes committed in 1998-1999 was arrested on Wednesday by the EU mission in Kosovo, EULEX police.

A person suspected of war crimes committed in 1998-1999 was arrested on Wednesday by the EU mission in Kosovo, EULEX police. The arrest came in the region of the town of Djakovica, it has been announced. EULEX: War crimes suspect arrested EULEX has not disclosed the identity of the person, but added that the apprehension is related to EULEX's ongoing investigation into the alleged abuse of the ethnic Albanian so-called Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), belived to have been perpetrated against prisoners in northern Albania during the 1998-1999 war. Prior to the arrest, EULEX officers searched the suspect's house on a warrant issued by the Kosovo Special Prosecutor's Office. Two more suspects have been identified in connection to this case, a statement said.
