EC offices evacuated for third day

Police in Belgrade this Wednesday had to deal with two more fake bomb tip-offs, on two different locations. The Belgrade Commercial Court was evacuated for a period of two hours after a bomb threat was called in. EC offices evacuated for third day The threat was called in at about 10:15 CET. Employees re-entered the building after police confirmed that no bomb was present in the building. This is the fourth false bomb threat in Belgrade in the last three days. On Monday and Tuesday, bomb threats were phoned in to the headquarters of the European Commission in New Belgrade, and another was called in for a car that parked in between the Croatian and U.S. embassies in Belgrade. The EC headquarters were evacuated once again on Wednesday because a fresh tip-off. The Australian embassy and several companies share the building with the EC mission. MUP stated that an investigation was underway. 2008 saw the most false bomb threats in Serbia, with over 1,000 called in to various courts and schools, but the number fell off drastically in 2009.
