A gang of 17 Kosovo Albanians, “specializing in robbing tourists”, have been arrested in Trieste, northeastern Italy. Nine from the group were arrested during the past six months, while the remaining eight were detained recently, Italian police said, and added that some have international arrest warrants issued against them. Italian police net Kosovo Albanian gang ANSA news agency reported that the gang operated on the highways near Venice and Trieste, where they would first puncture the tires on foreign tourists’ cars parked at rest stops, to then approach their victims pretending they were offering to help, and then proceed to rob them.
