One person has been injured in a shooting near Novi Sad, according to local police. Police said that a full statement would be issued regarding the incident by the end of the day. The Vojvodina Clinical Center stated that the 50-year-old patient had been taken to the emergency room. “The patient was operated on immediately, because he had serious bodily injuries that were life-threatening. After a complex operation, he was taken to the intensive care unit, where he will continue treatment,” according to the statement. According to the Beta news agency’s unofficial sources, Greek citizen and Sunoco company CEO Spiridon Pirgidis was the man shot in the altercation. The company owns sugar factories in four locations in Serbia.
