LDP leader testifies over attack

Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) leader Cedomir Jovanovic has testified in an investigation being led against suspects who attacked him and his family. Jovanovic was questioned for an hour at the Fourth Municipal Court in Belgrade. He did not comment afterwards, stating that he said everything he had to say about the attack to the investigative judge. LDP leader testifies over attack The LDP leader said that he expected the court to act accordingly. He testified in the investigation against Nemanja Milanovic and Nikola Knezevic, arrested for violent behavior and insulting members of Jovanovic’s family. The two suspects were remanded in custody for 30 days on March 25, because of the danger that they might reoffend or tamper with witnesses during the investigation. One minor, M.B., is accused of the same crimes and will face trial at the Belgrade District Court for Minors. Jovanovic, his wife and three children were attacked by three individuals while inside their vehicle. While they were able to flee the scene, the attackers continued to threaten and insult Jovanovic’s in-laws, stating that they would kill the LDP leader.
