EULEX could soon be in a position to launch an investigation into claims of the organ harvesting of abducted Serbs in Kosovo, writes a Pristina daily. EULEX spokeswoman Christina Herodes said that the EU mission’s prosecution had received material linked to the “yellow house“ case, that it was being examined, and that a decision on whether to launch a formal investigation would be taken in due course. "EULEX weighing up yellow house case" The claims of organ harvesting were first made by former Hague Chief Prosecutor Carla Del Ponte, who said that the illicit extraction of abducted Serbs’ organ by former members of the Kosovo Liberation Army may well have taken place in the so-called yellow house, near the town of Burrel in northern Albania, after June 1999. Koha Ditore states that this case features on the list of war crimes files that has reached the headquarters of the EU rule of law mission in Kosovo.
