Two trucks at the VMA hospital tied to the possible escape of Milorad Ulemek are owned by the security agency BIA and Gendarmerie, daily Danas understands. Ulemek, a.k.a. Legija, is expected shortly to be put under special guard. Possible sanctions for the plastic pistol found in his cell may include disciplinary action for breach of prison rules, resulting specifically in solitary confinement or a ban on visitors. "Ulemek soon under special guard" Ulemek is already in solitary by his own request, and only guards have access to his cell, writes the newspaper. However, his lawyer, Slobodan Milivojevic, claims that attorneys from his office spoke with him on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday last week. The former Special Operations Unit (JSO) commander had high blood pressure on the night of Monday/Tuesday last week, while the pistol was found a week earlier. Well-informed sources have told Danas that an inquiry is under way to establish how Ulemek came into possession of a plastic pistol. One of the possibilities mentioned was that all guards be made to undergo a lie-detector test, in order to ascertain whether any of them knew about the pistol. In the meantime, the guard shift for his cell in the prison has now been changed. Ulemek is serving several jail sentences, including 40 years in prison for organizing the murder of Zoran Djindjic.
