Milorad Todorovic, an adviser to the Kosovo Ministry in the last government, has been arrested on suspicion of financial malpractice. Sources close to the inquiry say that Todorovic is suspected of “mishandling a large amount of tax payer’s money”, while the investigative judge has remanded him in custody for 30 days, Tanjug reports. He was dismissed from the post last year, with Jelica Krcmarevic being named as his replacement. Taking advantage of his position as adviser to the former Kosovo minister, Todorovic refused to relinquish his duties as health center director, Tanjug reports, stating that Krcmarevic was legally appointed but that she has not been able to assume her post because of the obstruction. Serbian MUP officers from Gnjilane, temporarily based in Bujanovac and Vranje, arrested Todorovic three days ago. He was arrested on suspicion of abuse of office and falsifying official documentation. Todorovic, a member of the Democratic Party of Serbia, was formerly a member of the Serbian negotiating team during the Kosovo status talks and a coordinating minister for returns in the Kosovo government.
