Radovan Karadzic had been preparing his defense for months, his lawyers claim. According to them, Karadzic has also helped the defense of Slobodan Milosevic, who was tried at the Hague Tribunal. "Karadzic prepared defense" Lawyers for the war crimes suspect Radovan Karadzic say that one of the top Hague fugitives anonymously delivered documents to Milosevic’s legal team during his trial. They said that the legal terms for Karadzic’s extradition have not yet been met, because the Special Court in Belgrade has not received an appeal. The legal team would not disclose today if the appeal had been sent at all. During his life as a fugitive, Karadzic meticulously collected documents that he would use as his defense on a laptop. However, his plan was to defend himself, using the same documents, before the Serbian courts, not before the Hague Tribunal. The computer in question has been confiscated at the time of Karadzic's arrest, and has not yet been returned, lawyer Goran Petronijevic told the media today. Milivoje Ivanisevic, who was a member of Milosevic’s defense team, confirmed Karadzic's involvement. He said that the former Bosnian Serb leader, using the alias “Truth Seeker”, sent important documents, later used at Milosevic’s trial. Ivanisevic said that the documents found in the New Belgrade apartment were photocopies of the those that were already in possession of the Hague Tribunal. The lawyer told journalists in front of Belgrade’s Special Court that today he consulted Karadzic about the defense tactics, and said that the former president of the Republic of Srpska presented him with his concept.
