"Šešelj will not accept defense lawyer"

Serb Radical Party (SRS) Secretary General Aleksandar Vucic says he expects a fresh attempt by the Hague Tribunal to impose a defense counsel on Vojislav Seselj. This, Vucic said of the party leader undergoing trial accused of war crimes, is something "he will never agree to". "Seselj will not accept defense lawyer" "I hope there is someone reasonable out there who will prevent this, otherwise, we will see what Vojislav Seselj's moves will be", the SRS official told journalists in Belgrade today. The UN war crimes court prosecution's intention to impose a defense lawyer on the defendant would be tantamount to "an assault on Seselj's physical safety", Vucic said. "The prosecution can only bring this trial to end by stripping Seselj of his life and right to a defense," he continued. Vucic said the leader of the Radicals will "fight using all means to achieve his elementary human rights".
