A judge with the Belgrade District Court War Crimes Chamber has sent Stojan Zupljanin a decision for his extradition to the Hague Tribunal. Spokeswoman Ivana Ramic said the document will be presented to Zupljanin’s defense team today. Judge signs decision on Zupljanin extradition Igor Pantelic, the Bosnian Serb's lawyer, told Beta news agency that he expected to receive the decision during the day. The defense has three days to lodge an appeal. On Friday, Zupljanin refused to receive the indictment issued by the UN war crimes court against him. Instead, its contents were read out to him. Stojan Zupljanin was arrested in Pancevo last week. The suspect denied his identity after the arrest, but a DNA analysis proved it. According to the procedure determined by the Law on Cooperation with the Hague Tribunal, Zupljanin couldbe extradited to The Hague in three or nine days, depending on the decisions and the appeals. He was indicted for crimes against Muslims and Croats in Bosnia-Herzegovina during the 1992-1995 war in that county. Zupljanin will face twelve counts of persecution, killing, torture, inhumane acts, deportations, and reckless ruining of the populated areas, religious and cultural buildings.
