Four unknown individuals broke into the Israel Diamond Center in Kolarcevska Street stealing jewelery worth around EUR 1mn, MUP have announced. The break-in took place just after 21:00 CET on Thursday night. EUR 1mn stolen from Belgrade jeweler The robbers had earlier abducted one of the shop’s employees, forced him into the back of an unmarked van, and made him to open the shop. The police found a burnt-out Mercedes van, suspected of being used in the robbery, in the suburb of Grocka early on Friday morning. In a statement, the police said that an investigation was under way.
