An association of the families of missing and kidnapped Kosovo Serbs Monday asked Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic for assistance. They asked Jeremic to help them meet with UN and other international organizations' officials in an effort to find out the fate of their loved ones. Families of missing K. Serbs ask for help The move comes after allegations from former Chief Hague Prosecutor Carla Del Ponte's book, which says that some of the missing Serbs might have been kidnapped in 1999 by the so-called Kosovo Liberation Army, KLA, to be transported to Albania, where they were murdered after their vital organs were removed. The association today asked Jeremic to enable its delegation to go to New York, Washington, Brussels and The Hague to present to the UN secretary-general and present chief prosecutor of the Hague Tribunal evidence on abducted and missing Serbs, association president Sima Spasic told Tanjug. Spasic said after the meeting he was satisfied with the conversation he had with the foreign minister, and added Jeremic "works in the interest of our people, in the interest of our martyrs". The association presented to Jeremic new evidence, including photographs of ethnic Albanians holding severed heads of their Serb victims, and a list of 2,500 Serb civilians, soldiers and police officers killed in Kosovo, he said. Spasic also said he asked Jeremic "to under no circumstances forget 1998, when our families lived though a great tragedy, and to use his authority at the UN", and added that the minister promised to do everything he can to meet the request. "We are convinced that he, unlike many others who made such promises, while very few wished to help the association and the victims, will do all in his power to help us," Spasic said.
