Momcilo Jovanovic, 58, arrested three days ago in western Kosovo, has been released. International Judge Lolita Dumlao today rejected the prosecution's motion to extend his detention. Kosovo Serb released to house arrest But Jovanovic is under obligation to report to a local police station twice a week. His defense attorney Ljubomir Pantovic confirmed today that his client was now under house arrest. Jovanovic, one of over 200,000 Kosovo Serbs driven out of the province since 1999, was arrested while visiting his property in Pec. The Danish Council for Refugees organized the trip for those IDPs who are considering returning to their homes in the province. But his ethnic Albanian neighbors reported Jovanovic to the police, alleging that he is a war criminal who killed six Albanians in the village of Vitomirci.

But Jovanović is under obligation to report to a local police station twice a week.

His defense attorney Ljubomir Pantović confirmed today that his client was now under house arrest.

Jovanović, one of over 200,000 Kosovo Serbs driven out of the province since 1999, was arrested while visiting his property in Peć.

The Danish Council for Refugees organized the trip for those IDPs who are considering returning to their homes in the province.

But his ethnic Albanian neighbors reported Jovanović to the police, alleging that he is a war criminal who killed six Albanians in the village of Vitomirci.
