Rasim Ljajic said Carla Del Ponte’s book could compromise Serbia’s efforts of locating Hague fugitives. Ljajic, the president of the National Council for Hague cooperation, told B92 that he read some parts of the book which former the Hague chief prosecutor wants to publish, and that the book mentions some actions led by the Serbian institutions and the names of some helpers that she believes could help authorities get to the fugitives. Ljajic: Del Ponte book could compromise Hague efforts Ljajic said that he has "nothing against the book personally", but it should not be published only two months after she left her position, "because she had access to hundreds of thousands of documents, met with various people and got into details regarding certain actions related to the search for the most wanted Hague fugitives". “I do not understand how someone who was in this position can publish a book about everything they have done…What will happen if one of us publishes a book…it’s not right,” Ljajic commented. He added that from the parts he has read, there are "some true and some false claims", and added that when the Hague Tribunal was informed that Del Ponte had written a book, “they were shocked.” Ljajic said that it was known in Serbia that Del Ponte would write a book, but he "did not expect it to be published so early", adding that it “goes against the diplomatic protocol.”
