Accused Serbs demand referral

The Hague referred these cases to the Croatian Court, while the Bosnian court detained the Serbs.

The seven Serbs announced to end their hunger strike after talking to the delegation of the Republic of Srpska’s Parliament. The Parliamentary delegation leader Krstan Simić confirmed that the strike could be suspended until certain conditions were met, which he did not specify.

Strikers’ main demand to stand trial under the SFRY, rather than the Bosnian law, will be put on the judicial agenda, confirmed Simić, adding that the Constitutional Court is to decide on the issue. Strikers also insist on equal rights concerning their detention.

Duško Tomić did not confirm allegations about the demands to refer the cases to the Hague. He nevertheless pointed out that the Bosnian court must adjust its position on the matter.

The Bosnian court is to pass a ruling concerning the strikers’ demands by the end of the month.
