"Storm" crimes not “alleged”

“The Committee has had in its possession since 1998 the data on 40 murdered civilians in that area. It is well known that the Croatian Army Second Brigade and the Bosnian Army 5th Corps participated in the area”.

The Croatian Helsinki Committee chairman said it was unacceptable for the Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Koštunica to present the false numbers on the number of Operation Storm Serb victims, and claimed it was “Veritas” that presented the 1500 Serb victims data. Puhovski said the Committee has cross-checked data on 694 killed Serb civilians, the murders of which took place during and several weeks after Operation Storm.

The Social-Democratic Union chairman Žarko Korać said that the meeting between the Serbian, Croatian and Bosnian chief prosecutors in Zagreb last week was of enormous significance, as it demonstrated the three sides’ readiness to process the data, exchange information and lead the cases to trials.
