Kosovo Serb’s car damaged in powerful blast

KOSOVSKA MITROVICA -- A car owned by a Kosovo Serb was damaged in a powerful explosion that took place in northern Kosovska Mitrovica early on Friday.

The explosive device was most likely planted under the car that was parked in one of the central streets of the town.

The blast also damaged a cafe the car was parked in front of.

Parts of the damaged car were strewn around the street in a 50-meter radius, Tanjug has reported.

The incident took place around 2:30 CET and that explosion was even heard in the southern part of the town.

Kosovo police came to the scene immediately and KFOR troops were also deployed.

The car owner is Kosovo Serb D.J. of Kosovska Mitrovica and this is not the first time he was attacked. An unidentified perpetrator recently fired shots from an automatic weapon at his bakery.

This is the third bomb attack in northern Kosovska Mitrovica in the last several days. A bomb was thrown in the Tri solitera neighborhood, causing only material damage, while two Serb children were injured in the bomb attack in the Bošnjačka mahala neighborhood several days ago.

The Kosovo police still have not discovered the perpetrators of these attacks.
