Fake bomb tip-off at government building

BELGRADE -- The Serbian government on Wednesday received a tip-off about a bomb allegedly planted at the building housing its headquarters.

The warning, that was received as PM Ivica Dačić and President Tomislav Nikolić were addressing reporters, turned out to be false.

This has been confirmed by the Serbian Interior Ministry (MUP).

Officers from a special MUP unit searched the premises, but found no evidence of a planted explosive device.

The tip-off was received at 13:30 CET, Tanjug specified in its report.
