Two men - one from central Serbia, the other from Kosovo - were arrested at the airport in Kuwait's capital while trying to smuggle out 14 kilograms of gold. Kuwaiti police said the pair are members of a gang of eight, which on April 2 robbed a jewelry store, stealing a total of 36 kilograms of gold, local media said. Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic said on Monday that the Kuwaiti authorities arrested a total of six ethnic Albanians, five of whom have Serbian citizenship while one is from Macedonia. “We have not obtained all the information yet, but we know that one of six arrestees is Macedonian, and five are from Serbia. All are ethnic Albanians who have been engaged in criminal activities,” Dacic said. Media reports earlier today said that two other members of the gang escaped to Turkey immediately after the heist, while four others escaped to the United Arab Emirates four days later. One of them comes from Macedonia, while others are residents of Kosovo.
