Football transfer indictment against folk star

Folk singer Svetlana Ražnatović has been indicted for stealing some 4mn German marks and over USD 3mn from player transfers from FC Obilić to foreign clubs.

Folk singer Svetlana Raznatovic has been indicted for stealing some 4mn German marks and over USD 3mn from player transfers from FC Obilic to foreign clubs. State Prosecutor Zagorka Dolovac confirmed this on Monday. Football transfer indictment against folk star The Belgrade-based club in question was originally owned by Raznatovic's late husband, Zeljko Raznatovic aka Arkan. Eight years of investigation have led to multiple additions to her indictment, which ultimately included her sister Lidija Velickovic and former FC Obilic managers Dragisa Binic and Jovan Dimitrijevic. Binic and Dimitrijevic are accused of one player's illegal transfer, Milan Obradovic, who was sold to Moscow's FC Lokomotiv for USD 3mn. None of the money was deposited to the Obilic account. The two are suspected of acting on Raznatovic's instructions when they signed the contract in Moscow July 2, 2001. A million ended up handed over to the singer, according to the prosecution. The rest was moved to several private accounts in Belgium, Latvia, Spain, Switzerland, and the United States. Svetlana Raznatovic, known to her fans as Ceca, was placed under investigation in April 2003 for illegal possession of weapons. She was arrested during Operation Saber, an extensive police crackdown on organized crime that started in response to the assassination of PM Zoran Djindjic. The Belgrade-based club in question was originally owned by Ražnatović's late husband, Željko Ražnatović aka Arkan.

Eight years of investigation have led to multiple additions to her indictment, which ultimately included her sister Lidija Veličkovic and former FC Obilić managers Dragiša Binić and Jovan Dimitrijević.
