A group of intellectuals have signed an open letter arguing that the impending trial of six anarchist who attacked the Greek embassy in Belgrade is political. They also asked for the dismissal of charges for international terrorism against those accused of throwing Molotov cocktails at the building at the end of August. Members of clero-fascistic organization Obraz, which has been working smoothly since 1993 and Serb National Movement 1389 which represents itself as ‘patriotic’ while having close contacts with the Russian fascistic organizations, have not been held responsible for the threats, attacks and the beatings of the members of LGBT community over the years,” the letter reads. “Keeping in mind Article 10 of the European Human Rights Bill, we do not hesitate to express our opinion that all this leads to a conclusion that the court process against these six young people is essentially political. Therefore we are demanding dismissal of these absurd charges,” the letter concludes. The letter has so far been signed by Aleksej Kisjuhas, Borka Pavicevic, Dragomir Olujic, Goran Despotovic, Jovo Bakic, Ljubomir Zivkov, Pavel Domonji, Sonja Biserko, Sonja Drljevic, Srbijanka Turlajic, Stasa Zajovic, Svetlana Lukic, Svetlana Vukovic, Todor Kuljic, Vera Markovic, Vesna Rakic Vodinelic, Vladmir Ilic, Zaga Golubovic, Zoran Petakovic and Zelimir Zilnik.
