Dačić calls for “consensus against crime”
Interior Minister Ivica Dačić has called for a national consensus in combating crime and corruption, and stopping violence and all forms of extremism.

Interior Minister Ivica Dacic has called for a national consensus in combating crime and corruption, and stopping violence and all forms of extremism. “Without such a consensus, the police and courts cannot work,” he said, addressing graduates of the police academy at a ceremony in the national parliament. He called on the state and society to show clear support for the police in the accomplishment of these goals. “Police officers ask the state to say what they expect of us, what kind of Serbia we want, and what kind of value system we want to build. If we want a country where we can live safely, we need a social agreement,” Dacic said, adding that the police were prepared to do their duty with the support of the people. Education Minister Zarko Obradovic said that he was honored to attend the ceremony for the police graduates. “You, together with the Serbian military, are responsible of our security and we expect you to help us grab crime and corruption by the neck,” Obradovic said.
