The Serbian police (MUP) have warrants out for 19 persons suspected of taking part in a war crime in Bosnia against JNA troops, Beta reported. Among them is Ejup Ganic, a wartime Muslim member of the Bosnia-Herzegovina Presidency, the news agency said. In an earlier statement to Beta, Belgrade District Court spokeswoman Ivana Ramic said a investigative judge had decided to begin probing several people for war crimes committed in Sarajevo at the beginning of the 1992-1995 war in Bosnia. Ramic added that they were suspected of war crimes against POWs and using prohibited means of combat. According to her, the decision was made to issue warrants that would result in action by the MUP and decisions on pre-trial detention. In a statement to Beta, Croat wartime Bosnia-Herzegovina presidency member Stjepan Kljujic, said, "I have not received any document, or read any alleged warrant for my arrest posted by the Serbian judiciary" for war crimes in 1992. The Bosnia-Herzegovina Army fired on Yugoslav People's Army troops and vehicles retreating to their barracks on May 3, 1992. According to Eastern Sarajevo police figures, 42 soldiers were killed and 73 wounded, while 215 were taken prisoner in the attack. Kljujic and Ganic today live in Sarajevo.
