Customs officers have seized 20 kg of heroin at the Merdare administrative line with Kosovo.
The drugs were discovered in a BMW bearing Ljubljana license plates.
The customs officers discovered the heroin packed into 40 separate parcels in the car’s gas tank. The driver, a Slovenian national, aroused the suspicion of customs officers because he was travelling alone and without any luggage, after a three-day trip to Priština.
He was thoroughly searched, and with the help of the customs technical staff, it was established that the car’s butane tank was full—but not with gas.
The case will be referred to the police and the investigative judge.
