The war crimes trial for the group accused of killing 70 Croatian civilians in the village of Lovas in 1991 begins today. The trial is being held at the Belgrade District Court’s War Crimes Chamber. According to the indictment, 21 people were killed during the attack on Lovas on October 10, 1991, after which 22 civilians were killed in their homes and gardens. By October 18, another 23 people had been killed in makeshift prisons in the village.
