No date has yet been set for consideration of the appeals in the Zoran Djindjic’s murder case. Supreme Court President Vida Petrovic-Skero says the court will consider the appeals in the case after a detailed examination of the file. Supreme Court to set Djindjic appeals date Asked by journalists when the court would meet to consider the appeals, Petrovic-Skero said that the special department of the District Court in Belgrade had handed the case to the Supreme Court at the end of December last year. She explained that, as envisaged by law, the Supreme Court had given the Special Prosecutor’s Office the task of examining the appeals by the defense teams, and that the Prosecutor’s Office had handed the file to the Supreme Court at the end of February this year. Petrovic-Skero said that the court rapporteur and the judges who were to decide on the appeals first have to go through thousands and thousands of pages of case documentation in detail, before a meeting can be scheduled. On May 23 of last year, the District Court in Belgrade sentenced former Special Operation Unit (JSO) Commander Milorad Ulemek and former Deputy Commander Zvezdan Jovanovic to 40 years imprisonment for the murder of the late prime minister. Aleksandar Simovic, Ninoslav Konstantinovic, Vladimir Milisavljevic and Sretko Kalinic were sentenced to 35 years imprisonment; Zeljko Tojaga, Branislav Bezarevic, Milos Simovic, Milan Jurisic and Dusan Krsmanovic were sentenced to 30 years, while Sasa Pejakovic was sentenced to 8 years.
