Serbian war crimes prosecutor Vladimir Vukcevic has received a death threat, according to the Prosecutor’s office. A letter was sent to Vukcevic by Serbian U.S. citizens from Illinois. U.S. Serbs threaten war crimes prosecutor “Have you all been so brainwashed that you do not know that Ratko Mladic did not commit genocide in Srebrenica, and that he only killed several hundred of (Naser) Oric’s troops who, in uniform and carrying weapons, had committed war crimes against Serb civilians,” the letter stated. In the letter, the group told Vukcevic that he would get a bullet in his head for “betraying the Serbian people.” The letter was accompanied with a picture of Vukcevic with a swastika on his forehead and insulting comments about him and his family. The prosecutor’s office added that Vukcevic had recently received a message advising him “to put his identification card in his mouth so that he could be identified more easily.” Other employees at the prosecutor’s office say that they also receive death threats on a regular basis.
