Prosecution: Wahhabis planned to kill Zukorlić
The terrorism trial of <a href="http://www.b92.net/eng/news/crimes-article.php?yyyy=2008&mm=01&dd=13&nav_id=46904" class="text-link" target= "_blank">15 Sandžak Wahhabis</a> started today in Belgrade with the reading of the indictment.

The terrorism trial of 15 Sandzak Wahhabis started today in Belgrade with the reading of the indictment. The proceedings are conducted before the Special Organized Crime Court. Prosecution: Wahhabis planned to kill Zukorlic The investigation into the case, which charges the group with terrorism, was made a state secret, with details withheld from the public. Now Deputy Special Prosecutor Jovica Jovanovic revealed that the 15 members of the radical Islamic sect are suspected of terrorism, illegal possession of weapons and explosives, but also of planning attacks on police and assassinations. "From the second half of 2006 until March 16, 2007, in the territories of Novi Pazar and Sjenica, the accused organized a criminal group with the intent to undermine Serbia's security," Jovanovic told a panel of judges. Beside planning an attack on the Novi Pazar police station, they also plotted the assassination of Mufti Muamer Zukorlic, one of the leaders of the Muslims in Serbia, the prosecution alleged today.
