Serbian police (MUP) in Novi Sad arrested two people on Sunday suspected of inflicting serious wounds on a Greek citizen. The victim, a 50-year-old manager in Sunoko sugar company identified with his initials S.P., was assaulted in his home in Sremska Mitrovica in April this year. Suspects in assault on Greek national Safet C., 40, of Belgrade, and Mileta J., 49, of Novi Sad, are believed to have shot the man from a firearm after failing to open a safe. They also stole an undisclosed amount of hard currency and a mobile phone, police said. The pair have now been remanded in custody for 30 days by a Novi Sad judge.
