Serbia invited to participate in military parade in China

The Serbian MoD said in a statement on Tuesday hat the invitation came from the Ministry of National Defense of the People's Republic of China.

According to the statement, it was sent "given our contribution to the victory in the Second World War, as well as the traditionally good relations between the two countries and the two armies."

It added that "the Chinese side appreciates the attention that is paid by Serbia to the development of old and the building of new partnerships in the East and in the West, especially with those countries that are strategic partners, which applies particularly to China, which is also one of the four pillars of the foreign policy Serbia."

The statement also said that China "on several occasions expressed its solidarity" with the Serbian people and the Army through donations to the Ministry of Defense and to the military, including after last year's catastrophic floods.

"Serbia is proud of its great contribution to defeating the Axis powers during the Second World War and in this sense is actively committed to fostering the tradition of the anti-fascist struggle," the statement said.

Previously, Serbia received and accepted Russia's invitation for the VS soldiers to march on Red Square during the Victory Day Parade in Moscow on May 9.
