Ombudsman "has right to political opinion"- PM

Asked by reporters on Monday whether he planned "to protect the citizens' ombudsman," the prime minister responded:

"From what? Who's attacking him? We have no problem with him. The man is presenting different political views, I respect that. Everyone in our country has a democratic right to express different political opinions. We are neither replacing him, nor is anyone bothering him."

Vucic also said that Jankovic "should do his job the way he thinks is best," while citizens will judge how well "everyone" has actually performed in office.

These questions for the prime minister came after an assembly member and official of his SNS party, Vladimir Djukanovic, recently urged Jankovic "not to abuse his position for the sake of political ambitions."

Similar messages were heard in the past from other officials of the ruling party.
