Fiscal Council: Deficit RSD 25-30bn in 1st quarter
The general government deficit will probably amount to RSD 25-30bn in the first quarter of 2015 considering the surplus of RSD 4.6bn in the first two months.

“Although this result is twice lower that the goal set by the agreement with the IMF, which is RSD 55.7 billion, it comprises the effect of the temporary factors which partly cover up the true fiscal flows,” reads the regular monthly report by the Fiscal Council for February.The Council underlined that the deficit is lower than expected due to a one-time increase in non-tax revenues of over RSD 10 billion because the dividends of state-owned companies have been paid, while capital expenditures were lower by RSD 5 million in the first two months of 2015.
The agreement with the IMF reads that possible surplus in budget revenues should be used to reduce the fiscal deficit and public debt, the Fiscal Council said.
“Even if higher revenues appeared as a result of combating the grey economy, we believe that they should be treated as reserve in case of missing deadlines in the implementation of remaining reforms,” the Council said.
