Indian Wells: Djokovic wins, Jankovic defeated

World's best tennis player Novak Djokovic of Serbia has defend his title at the Masters 1000 in Indian Wells as he defeated Roger Federer of Switzerland.

Indian Wells: Djokovic wins, Jankovic defeated

The Serbian "thus had his revenge over the Swiss player who beat him last month at the Dubai ATP and won his fourth title in California, where he previously claimed tournament titles in 2008, 2011 and 2014," Tanjug reported.

This is the second trophy for Djokovic this season as he previously triumphed at the Australian Open, and this is also the 50th title in his career.

This was the 18th victory for Djokovic against Federer out of the 38 matches they played so far.

Also on Sunday, Serbia's Jelena Jankovic failed to win the WTA tournament final, losing to Romania's Simona Halep 2-6 7-5 6-4.

Jankovic moved up four spots in the WTA rankings and is ranked 17th as of Monday.

She won her last title in Bogota in 2013.
