"State doesn't take Interpol warrants lightly"

Stefanovic said at a press conference on Tuesday that the allegations in all indictments are investigated "very seriously" - regardless of whether "it is seems to us there's nothing to it."

"Here there are several things that we will consider while making decisions," the minister said when asked whether Serbia will act on the warrant for Stojanovic's arrest. Stojanovic is currently chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Security.

The general served as chief of the security sector of the Yugoslav Army's Pristina Corps during the war in Kosovo.

A court in his native Djakovica raised an indictment against a total of Serbs, with the Interpol warrant based on this.
