The Serb Republic (RS) has a new government, headed by Zeljka Cvijanovic, who has embarked on her second term as prime minister.

Bosnian Serb entity gets new government

The Alliance of Independent Social Democrats, which is the strongest party, has eight ministers, the Socialists have four and the Democratic People's Alliance has three, while the Croatian Democratic Community of Bosnia and Herzegovina has one minister.

Pursuant to constitutional provisions the make-up of the government reflects the ethnic composition of the RS population - eight ministers are Serbs, five are Bosniaks and four are Croats.

The election of the new RS government is pending approval by the as-yet-unconstituted Council of Peoples.
