London mayor accepts invitation to visit Belgrade
Mali presented and investment plan and infrastructure projects, including the Belgrade Waterfront project and a project aimed at improving public transportation, and invited Johnson to visit Belgrade, which the London mayor accepted.Discussed at Wednesday's meeting were "foreign investments, as well as possibilities for organising major sports events in Belgrade in a manner that would emulate the London 2012 Olympic Games."
Prior to the meeting with Johnson, Mali presented the Belgrade Waterfront project at an economic forum, as well as infrastructure development projects that will be addressed in the next investment cycle, said a statement from Mali's office.
As the implementation of these projects requires support from investors, Mali noted that the structure of public-private partnerships is crucial.
The model will contribute to construction of underground parking lots, to an arrangement for the Vinča landfill, improved energy efficiency, reconstruction and expansion of the water and sewage networks in Belgrade and other infrastructure projects, the statement also said.
With the meeting with Johnson, Vučić and the Serbian delegation, which also included Finance Minister Dusan Vujović, concluded the three-day visit to London.
