Milošević's widow: Family has no assets in EU

"We have a house in Požarevac that we loved and love. Slobodan is resting in its garden. In Belgrade we have a house that we rented out to, in part, support ourselves, but we can neither rent nor sell that house now. Those are our only assets," she claims.

Marković added that the stories about billions that her family took with them to Russia are "nonsense."

Asked how she supports herself in Moscow, Marković said she had "a RSD 58,000 pension," and added:

"Slobodan was the only head of state, I guess worldwide, who had no right to a pension. The stories that we took everything we could out of Serbia, to accounts in various banks, are nothing but projections of those who, had they been in our place, would have lived lavishly."

Marković also said she arrived in Moscow carrying with her only "three pairs of glasses, two skirts, two sweaters, and a pack of aspirin."

"I am telling the truth. Those who wish to believe me should believe me. Those who don't - don't have to," she concluded.
