"Those are their relations and I would not go into it," the Serbian prime minister told reporters in the town of Subotica.

He added that Kirby, "did not ask for sanctions (against Russia) to be introduced (by Serbia) and has not exert pressure on Serbia," and described him as "a good man and an excellent ambassador."

Asked "what kind of message Kirby wanted to send," Vučić said:

"Don't you worry, there are people who think about these messages. Don't worry, Serbia is on the right path. Everything will be in the best order."

"Not easy, but significant"

Aleksandar Vučić has announced that he will on Thursday present a set of reform measures that he said will not be easy, but are very significant for Serbia and its future.

"Those reforms will not be easy at all," Vučić said late Wednesday at a ceremony marking the fifth anniversary of the French-Serbian Chamber of Commerce, adding that he knows that "we are doing a major thing for our country and the future of our children because we have at last mustered the courage to do not what someone will like, but what is good for our country."

So far, the government has done much of what has been announced - the labor, privatization and bankruptcy bills have been passed, but a bigger wave of reforms is still ahead, Vučić said.

"I am confident that we will also have the support of France and French companies in Serbia in all this and I am certain that, in a few years' time, Serbia will be a successful, modern European country that the Serbian citizens and our French friends will be proud of," Vučić said.
