Russia readies another humanitarian aid convoy

"The humanitarian situation is not improving but deteriorating. We want to reach an agreement on all the terms and conditions for the delivery of a second convoy of aid that would go the same route in the coming days," said Lavrov.

He added that the damage to civilian infrastructure in the east of Ukraine cannot be fully accounted for as "mistakes or accidents" during the military conflict between Ukrainian army and pro-Russian rebels.

"Help will be received by everyone who needs help. The indiscriminate shelling continues, the need for food and water is increasing. International humanitarian organizations know it as well, as do all international factors," said Lavrov.

The Russian humanitarian convoy of 280 unmarked, white truck transferred 2,000 tons of aid to the east of Ukraine last Friday. The West and Kiev strongly criticized this because the convoy "did not have all the necessary permits."

The entry of the Russian trucks was also strongly condemned by the EU, which said that it violated the border of Ukraine.
