"Last night we saw a Russian incursion, a crossing of the Ukrainian border. It just confirms the fact that we see a continuous flow of weapons and fighters from Russia into eastern Ukraine and it is a clear demonstration of continued Russian involvement in the destabilisation of eastern Ukraine," he told reporters after meeting the Danish defense minister.

Earlier, British reporters said they "saw Russian military vehicles crossing into Ukraine."

The situation in Ukraine was also on the agenda of EU foreign ministers on Friday. According to reports, they agreed that Russia should not send its troops to the territory of Ukraine.

Some EU ministers warned Russia not to violate international law, and said the EU and the United States were very committed to preparing an answer to any kind of aggression.
