Parliament to adopt budget review by mid-September

Serbian Economy Minister Dušan Vujović said on Friday that the budget review will be presented to MPs by September 15 at the latest and adopted the same week.

Parliament to adopt budget review by mid-September

"The plan is to present the budget review in the parliament by September 15 at the latest and adopt it in the week of September 15-19," said Vujović, who also serves as acting minister of finance.

The review should secure sufficient funds for structural measures - social programs, continued government incentives and drawing new investors, said Vujović.

The budget review is the first step towards a major fiscal consolidation, stressed the minister.

Speaking about the planned reduction of salaries and pensions, the minister said the government "will make an effort so it is not a single dinar over ten percent."
