Screening of all 35 chapters to be completed by March 2015

The Serbian Foreign Ministry expectes the “screening” of the acquis in the process of Serbia's accession to the EU to be completed by March 2015.

Screening of all 35 chapters to be completed by March 2015

On behalf of Serbia, the meeting was attended by officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other institutions of the country.

The EU was represented by officials of the European Commission (EC) and the European External Action Service and representatives of 20 EU member states.

With the successful completion of the screening for Chapter 31, Serbia has started the analytical examination of EU legislation for a total of 21 chapters, the statement said.

According to the MFA, it is expected that the analysis of Serbia’s compliance with European legislation in all 35 chapters should be completed by March 2015.

The release cites representatives of the European Commission as saying that they are "satisfied about the progress in the analytical process and the course of harmonization of our legislation with that of the EU."

The EC officials pointed out that the Serbian administration had shown a high level of readiness and dedication to the process of European integration and to reforms.
